Finding a Voice

Someone once told me that a good photograph asks more questions than it answers. It is in this way that I have tried to approach all of my work in the MFA program here at Brooks. I’ve been attempting to embrace the unknown, the flaws and the failures while working as hard as I can and with all sorts of different camera formats that I’ve never used before. Since starting the program last September I have often felt confused and unsure of my direction but with the above advice in mind I take faith in the idea of photography as an ongoing search. How can you find your voice if you aren’t getting lost along the way?
